Edison: Zuccoli, the game will end at the end of the month. Piquemal: with takeover bid, agreement to be renegotiated

Regarding the fact that Edf has not yet presented its query to Consob on the takeover bid it will have to launch on Edison, according to Zuccoli “there is no certain reason linked to the calendar. It will certainly be a problem for the lawyers, because I believe that the question must be well packaged".

The sale of the Italian shares in Edison to Edf and the spin-off of the Edipower plants between Italian and French shareholders is "a game that will close at the end of the month". Giuliano Zuccoli, chairman of the management board of A2a, is convinced of this, underlining how the "scenario is positive and everything is moving according to plan, then the transition to Consob remains".

Regarding the fact that Edf has not yet presented its query to Consob on the takeover bid it will have to launch on Edison, according to Zuccoli “there is no certain reason linked to the calendar. It will certainly be a problem for the lawyers, because I believe that the question must be well packaged". Zuccoli then confirmed that, on the whole affair, the management and supervisory councils of A29a will be held on November 2 and then, "immediately after that of Delmi", the vehicle that brings together the Italian utilities that are members of the Italian-French holding company Transalpina of Energy.

This afternoon Thomas Piquemal, financial director of EDF, explained that "if we were to launch a takeover bid and the price was higher than the average for the last 12 months, then we would have to renegotiate the entire agreement". The French therefore remain firm in their positions, as emerged in the non-binding agreements signed with the Italian shareholders of the electricity group: the agreement must be reviewed in the event that Consob requires EDF to pay a premium on the average stock over the last 12 months .
