Construction: the Government meets with companies to boost GDP

Thursday was staged at Ministry of Economic Development the first "construction table”, a sector that has seen 10 jobs disappear in the last 600 years, the equivalent of 50 companies such as Ilva. The minister Stefano Patuanelli met with the sector's employers' associations (Ance, Oice, Confedilizia, Confimi, Aniem, Confassociazioni's National Infrastructure Observatory) and the trade unions (Filca Cisl, Fillea Cgil and Feneal Uil).

During the meeting, the useful measures to revitalize the building and infrastructure sector and – as stated on the institutional page on the ministry's website – “support construction companies, which represent one of the pillars of our production system”.

Sources present at the meeting let it be known that there was talk of different problems: the problematic relationship between the Public Administration and economic operators, the need for an adequate declination of industry 4.0 for the sector, the excess of bureaucracy and the responsibilities to which public officials are subjected, the difficulties in accessing credit.

According to Giorgio Lupoi, director of Oice and sole director of the engineering company Studio Speri, "it is important to resort to external project management services to support the PA (as, moreover, provided for in the Code) and to apply the advance on the contracts implementing the framework agreements in be (many of which are managed by Anas). The minister undertook to collect the requests and to involve the other ministries and institutions interested in starting the work as early as February".
