Women in Finance: Appointments in Aviva, State Street and Zurich

Three top women in the world of finance and to be precise from Aviva Investors, State Street Corporation and Zurich Italy. Aviva Global Asset Management has announced the appointment of Susan Schmidt as Head of US Equities. A choice that follows the arrival of David Cumming as Chief Investment Officer, Equities, in January 2018 and which confirms Aviva Investors' continued commitment to the equity sector. Susan Schmidt will report to Cumming: the manager has over 25 years of experience in the investment sector and will be based in Chicago. “She is a high-profile investment professional with extensive experience,” commented the CIO of Aviva Investors. Her arrival is yet another sign of our commitment to strong, integrated teams across all key areas of the equity market. Over the next few months we expect to add new resources to further strengthen the US team".

State Street announced today the appointment of Angela Summonte as Senior Vice President and Head of Asset Owner and Official Institutions Sector Solutions for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). From the Frankfurt office, Summonte will report directly to Maria Cantillon, Head of Sector Solutions for the EMEA area. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading the company's commercial strategy across the Asset Owners and Official Institutions sectors across EMEA, and will work closely with the product development team to enhance State's current offering. Street in the Global Exchange, Global Markets and Global Services business areas for current and prospective customers. Summonte will also oversee the work of the Asset Owner and Official Institutions Sector Solutions teams at the regional level.

The round of nominations is closed by the entry of Roberta Maracino in Zurich Italy, with the position of head of innovation & market management. Roberta will head the recently established division of the same name to give new impetus to the growth ambitions of the Company in Italy. “The appointment of Roberta Marracino, a manager with consolidated experience in the financial-insurance sector – declared Alessandro Castellano, CEO of Zurich Italia – is preparatory to strengthening the group's strategic objectives in Italy. Our attention is now directed to (technological) innovation and to the central role of the customer, around which to build an offer of innovative services and products to respond to the moment of strong change that is characterizing our industry”.
