The long-awaited has arrived D-Day. Monday 20 May 2024, twenty out of forty Ftse Mib companies, plus another forty-five listed on the other stock indices Italian stock exchange they detach theirs dividend 2024, remunerating their members with generous coupons and returns that in some cases exceed 10%. A tempting opportunity for investors who can thus round off the already substantial gains made thanks to the strong price increases that led Piazza Affari to exceed 35 thousand points, reaching the highest levels since 2007. 

Dividends 20 May 2024: it's D-Day, the big names of the Ftse Mib are on the field

After the first round of dividends, which occurred On Monday April 22, there are twenty the blue chips that I take to the field on Monday 20 May: from Intesa Sanpaolo a Generali, Eni a Unipol, passing through luxury and asset management companies and utilities. A load of dividends which, according to Intermonte's calculations, in the current season is close to 34 billion euros, almost double compared to last year's 18,5 billion calculated by Janus Henderson. 

Not only. If, based on data from the Allianz Global study, in Europe the average dividend yield reaches 3,67% this year (it was 3,47% in 2023), in Italy it is even higher: the average return of companies listed on Piazza Affari should in fact rise to 5,63%, a percentage well above of 3,88% currently recognized by ten-year BTP benchmark 

Dividends 20 May 2024: from Intesa Sanpaolo to Banca Ifis, the coupons of Italian banks

Unicredit, Banca Mediolanum and Banco Bpm have already given in April. Among the big Ftse Mib companies that will pay coupons on May 20th there are numerous banks. First of all Intesa Sanpaolo which on Monday pays a balance on the 2023 dividend of 2,8 billion, 0,152 euros per share. Based on the 2023 profit, the overall distribution is 5,4 billion euros, corresponding to a payout ratio equal to 70% of consolidated net profit. Taking into account the deposit paid in November, the total coupon amounts to 0,296 euros. The yield? At the prices of Thursday 16 May, the balance yield exceeds 4%, while the overall yield is close to 8%. 

Then there are the high yields guaranteed by Popular of Sondrio (7%, dividend 0,56 euros per share) and from Bper (6%, dividend 0,3 euro per share), while the return to profit and coupon, two years earlier than expected in the plan, of the Monte dei Paschi di Siena: 0,25 euros per share with a very respectable yield of 5%. Furthermore, for the first time, Mediobanca has introduced an advance dividend in May from 2024, equal to 0,51 euros per share for a value of 421 million and a dividend yield of 3,34%. 

Outside the Ftse Mib, there is also something to keep an eye on Ifis Bank, which on Monday 20 May distributes a balance of the dividend for the 2023 financial year of approximately 47 million euros, equal to 0,90 euros per share. On the occasion of the presentation of the results for the first 9 months of 2023, the bank had resolved to distribute an interim dividend for 2023 of 63 million euros, or 1,2 euros per share. For the whole of 2023, therefore, Banca Ifis will pay a coupon of 2,1 euros per share, with an overall yield of more than 10%, the highest among banking securities, while that of the balance is 4,39%. 

Dividends 20 May 2024: managed savings and insurance, Generali arrives

By virtue of the record profit recorded in 2023 (3,57 billion euros), the dividend that Generali pays its shareholders this year, a figure higher than the consensus of analysts who expected an average dividend of 1,25 euros. The total reaches 2 billion euros, while the yield well exceeds 5%. Among the insurance groups they also detach the dividend on May 20th Unipol (€0,38 per share) e Unipolsai (0,165 euros per share). In the first case the dividend yield is 4,26%, in the second it exceeds 6%. 

On the same day, it is also the turn of some managed savings securities such as Azimuth (one euro in cash + one share for every 69) e Finecobank (0,69 euro). 

Energy, utilities, health and luxury: May 20th it's Eni's turn 

In the energy sector, Monday Eni distributes the fourth tranche of its dividend equal to 0,24 euros per share (total 0,94 euros). The overall yield is 6,2%, the balance yield is 1,6%. Moving forward we find Tenaris which provides a coupon balance equal to the balance of 0,4 dollars out of a total of 0,6 dollars. Among the utilities, however, they are worth mentioning A2a (0,0958 euros), Getting very (1 euros) e Italgas (0,352 euro). 

The health sector then participates in D-Day with Amplifon (0,29 euros), Recordati (balance of 0,63 euros out of a total of 1,2 euros) e Diasorin (1,15 euro). Inwit represents the infrastructure sector with a coupon of 0,48 euros, Interpump the industrial one (0,32 euros).

Luxury couldn't be missing, with Moncler (€1,15 per share) e BRUNELLO CUCINELLI (0,91 euro).
