Four initiatives to support academic talent

The new calls are aimed at doctoral students, young researchers, universities and research institutes, covering different stages of the academic career. PhD Scholarships in Economics 2026, dedicated to the memory of Marco Fanno, Giovanna Crivelli and Fabrizio Saccomanni, provide 10 doctoral scholarships for students enrolled in PhD programs in economics at universities of recognized international prestige. Top-Up Fanno & Foscolo Fellowships 2026 They offer 7 fellowships to universities and research institutes to attract and retain excellent researchers in the early stages of their careers, also through internationally competitive remuneration packages. Modigliani Research Grant 2026 provides 4 grants for young researchers in the fields of economics and finance employed at European universities.

Complete the package 13th Economic Job Market Best Paper Award, created in collaboration with the European Economic Association, which will award 5 prizes to the best research presented by young economists entering the international academic market.

UniCredit Foundation Calls: Application Deadlines

Le application they are already open and they foresee different deadlines Depending on the initiative. The deadline for the four Modigliani Research Grants is October 16, 2026, while the deadline for the five Economic Job Market Best Paper Awards is October 12.

The Top-Up Fanno & Foscolo Fellowships, which offer seven opportunities, can be applied for by October 30th. The later deadline is for the 10 PhD Scholarships in Economics, for which applications will remain open until November 2nd, 2026.
