Dividends 2019, here are all the coupons of the Ftse Mib

The die is cast. All the Ftse Mib companies have established dividends to be disbursed to shareholders and on 23 April the so-called "dividend season" will officially begin, which this year will end at the end of July.

In total, according to the calculations of the research office of Websim, the website of the Intermonte broker which offers consultancy services aimed at retail investors, the companies listed on Piazza Affari (and therefore not only on the main list) will distribute in 2019 26 billion coupons. A figure that exceeds last year's figure by 3 billion and which corresponds to 4,2% of the overall capitalization of the Milan Stock Exchange.

Wanting to make a comparison: the Italian share yields much more than the ten-year BTP (at 2,5%), while compared to the 12-month BOT, which has a yield below zero, there is really no story.

The most generous coupons during the shower of billions that will arrive in the pockets of shareholders from next week are obviously the securities of the Ftse Mib. Two examples above all: FCA, which did not distribute last year, will pay off a total coupon of 23 billion euros on 1 April (to which another 2 billion in extraordinary dividends will probably be added), while Intesa Sanpaolo has established a cash dividend amounting to 3,449 billion euros, an increase compared to 3,419 billion of the previous year.

Ftse Mib companies will also be very generous in terms of dividend yield which at an average level will amount to 4,8% this year, the highest of all listings on the Old Continent which, according to Bloomberg estimates, will offer yields between 4,2 and 4,5 percent.

DIVIDENDS 2019: COUPON EXTERNAL AND PAYMENT DATES

The dividend season will officially kick off on Tuesday 23 April and will continue until July 22, the day on which Enel will detach its coupon. In this case it will be the balance (equal to 14 cents) after the interim dividend paid last September (it will be 28 cents in total).

The busiest day will be May 20, when giants such as Eni, Generali, Leonardo and Intesa Sanpaolo will enter the scene. June will instead be the month of utilities.

Here the dates to be marked in red on the calendar for Ftse Mib titles:

  • April 23 (payment April 25 and May 2): Campari (April 25), Ferrari (May 2), FCA (May 2) Finecobank (April 25), Recordati (April 25), Unicredit (April 25).

DIVIDENDS 2019: BLUE CHIP AMOUNTS AND RETURNS

FIRSTonline has already made a ranking of highest-paying stocks of the Ftse Mib in terms amount and yield. At the top, like last year, is Azimut, even if its supremacy will be threatened by the extraordinary dividend that FCA will pay for the sale of Magneti Marelli.

Wishing to shift attention for a moment to the other indices of the Italian Stock Exchange, the returns guaranteed by: Ascopiave (9,5%, dividend of 0,335 euro), Dea Capital (8,2%, dividend of 0,115 euro) stand out.

Returning to the main list, in 2019 eight companies have decided to increase the dividend: UnipolSai, Banca Generali, Unipol, Tenaris, Prysmian, Brembo, Leonardo and Campari.

Telecom Italia, like last year, will pay the coupon only for savings shares, while Banco Bpm and Saipem will not distribute.
We propose below the table containing the amounts and returns of all the Ftse Mib companies. Yield is calculated based on the share price on Tuesday 9th April.
