The amusement park of Disneyland California will become a center of anti-Covid vaccination. The announcement comes from Orange County, where the Californian park is located, and from Disney itself.

Many theme parks of the American giant (including Disneyland Paris) have been closed since last March due to the restrictions imposed to counter the pandemic. Closures that triggered heavy losses and prompted the company to announce more than 32 layoffs that will be carried out, according to forecasts, in the first half of 2021.

Among the parks that have not reopened is the one located in Anaheim, in Orange County (California), which will undergo a radical transformation within the next weekend: from amusement park to mass vaccination center, the largest in the entire region. 

“Disneyland Resort, which is Orange County's largest employer, rallied to welcome the region's first major immunization center, doing a monumental job in our vaccine distribution processCounty Representative Andrew Do said, pending the establishment of more vaccination centers.

“Disneyland Resort is proud to help support Orange County and the City of Anaheim for fight against Covid-19“, wrote Pamela Hymel, doctor in charge of the park.

Concrete help to a state that has an average of over 1.110 deaths a day (30 since the start of the pandemic. At the end of December, California also became the first state with over 2 million cases confirmed of coronavirus and only yesterday recorded a number of infections exceeding 30.000.
