Blessed Petruzzo, current ceo of Miu Miu (Prada), is preparing for a change of direction that will take it to the heart of Parisian fashion: starting from October 15th will take over the role of managing director of Christian Dior Couture. The news was confirmed by Delphine Arnault, president and CEO of Dior, via the fashion site Wwd. Arnault stressed that Petruzzo will bring significant experience to the brand and contribute to its future evolution: “With his help, we will continue to build a bright future and consolidate our position in the world of fashion.”
In lvmh, the fashion giant that controls Dior, Petruzzo will be responsible for leading product teams, overseeing the supply chain and managing information systems and data. Will replace Charles Delapalme, destined for new and still mysterious roles within the group. Arnault wanted to warmly thank Delapalme for his commitment and contribution to the growth of Dior since 2018.
The effects of the appointment on Prada stock
The news of the appointment had repercussions also on Prada, the parent company of Miu Miu. The title Prada has closed down of 2,09% in Hong Kong, reaching a decline of 4,1%. Petruzzo, since February 2020 at the helm of Miu Miu, has guided the brand to a growth of 70% by the end of 2023 compared to pre-pandemic levels. Despite the slide on the stock market, analysts remain optimistic about the future of Prada, with expected growth of 45% in 2024 and 20% in 2025.
On the other hand, Petruzzo's arrival at Dior, with an estimated turnover of around 9 billion euros and an EBIT close to 3 billion, could represent a growth opportunity for LVMH, contributing to a possible acceleration of the brand's performance after a slowdown in recent quarters.
The Career of Benedetta Petruzzo
"I am deeply honored to join Dior. It is a great privilege to have been chosen for this responsibility in such an iconic house," commented Petruzzo. "I warmly thank Delphine Arnault for the trust she has placed in me and I am excited to collaborate with the executive committee and the presidents of the various regions to further contribute to the development of Dior's business."
Petruzzo has a career ranging from finance to management consulting, with significant experience in the luxury sector. After a degree in business administration and a master's degree in management from Bocconi University, he worked with Bain & Company and as executive vice president of Kering Eyewear before becoming CEO of Miu Miu. With his new position at Dior, he continues his career in the fashion industry.
