It seems like an endless tunnel, the one Greece has slipped into, which just can't find peace. Today a 66-year-old man died of a heart attack during the street clashes, in front of the Parliament of Athens, between demonstrators and the police.
The demonstration was part of the general strike (the second in a month, the fourth since the beginning of the year) called for today by the trade unions, in deliberate concomitance with the European summits in Brussels, for which thousands of Greeks took to the streets to protest against the cuts, over 11 billion euros, imposed by the Troika and, more generally, against a crisis from which there seems to be no way out.
Already last Thursday Athens had been the scene of very hard clashes. Today the new riots, with the throwing of stones, Molotov cocktails and tear gas, between demonstrators and the police. The toll, for now, is one dead and at least five injured (including two officers), one of which appears to be serious.
