Covid, Regions: Sardinia is back in orange, only Val d'Aosta in red

After the weekly monitoring there are 5 orange Regions, all in the South, one in red and the other 14 all in yellow

Covid, Regions: Sardinia is back in orange, only Val d'Aosta in red

In Italy there is only no region in the red zone, therefore with the highest level of restrictions. This is the Valle d'Aosta and this was established by the usual weekly monitoring of the control room, which on the basis of the latest epidemiological data has expressed its verdict: the Sardinia goes from red to orange, Basilicata, Calabria, Puglia (which touched yellow) and Sicily remain orange. All other regions and the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano are in the yellow area. The few shifts in the indicators are due to a decreasing circulation of the virus, which means that 14 Regions in yellow, corresponding to most of the national population, have confirmed their presence in that scenario.

The only region that gets worse is precisely the Valle d'Aosta, is returns to red due to the incidence: it is the only Region to exceed, with 264, the threshold of 250 weekly cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. The national Rt index goes up slightly, coming in at 0,85 compared to 0,81 last week. On the other hand, the weekly incidence decreases, going from 159 to 146 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants. There are three Regions which have an average Rt greater than or equal to 1. Basilicata which has 1,02 (with the two intervals forming the average at 0,87-1,16), Campania which has 1,08 (1,05 1,11-1), Molise 0,63 (1,44-1,05) and Sicily 1,02 (1,08-1). However, Basilicata and Molise have the lower interval of the two that serve to form the average, which is taken into consideration for color changes, lower than XNUMX.

The experts of the Control Room also write that the number of Regions “that have an employment rate in intensive care and/or medical areas above the critical threshold is falling, while remaining high: 8 against 12 in the previous week. The rate of occupation in intensive care at the national level it is equal to the critical threshold of 30%, with a decrease in the number of people admitted to intensive care units, which goes from 3.151 on April 20 to 2.748 on the 27th. The employment rate in medical areas at the national level drops further and is below the critical threshold of 40%, i.e. 32%. The number of people hospitalized in these areas went from 23.255 on April 20 to 20.312 on the 27th.
