CDP Equity (CDPE), a subsidiary of the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group, and Trilantic Europe, a leading pan-European mid-market private equity investor, have acquired a participation of majority di Diagram Group, an Italian agritech company.
CDPE and Trilantic Europe have acquired a 41,6% stake each in the company – for a total of 83% of the share capital – from the investment platform Nextalia, which has held Diagram since 2022. BF Agricola, a company of the BF group active in the agro-industrial sectors, has maintained, through a reinvestment operation, a 15% stake compared to the initial share of 20%.
Diagram: Agritech Leader with Exponential Growth Since 2017
Based in Emilia-Romagna, Diagram is a leading operator in the services of agriculture precision, in technological solutions and professional software applications for the agricultural sector available to farmers, food processing companies, banks, insurance companies and public bodies. The company has a customer portfolio that covers over 2 million hectares in Italy and over 500 thousand abroad, with over 350 employees and over 450 collaborators in various operating offices in Italy and the United Kingdom.
Diagram is grown exponentially from its birth in the 2017, achieving significant results thanks to the implementation of a strategic aggregation program and a unique go-to-market strategy, driven by partnerships with the main operators in the sector in the Italian ecosystem.
CDP Equity and Trilantic Europe strengthen Diagram as European agritech leader
CDP Equity and Trilantic Europe’s investment will be instrumental in consolidating Diagram’s position as a leading agritech platform in Europe, diversifying and strengthening its range of products and solutions. The two companies will also support Diagram’s expansion into private and public markets at a national and international level, through organic growth and M&A transactions.
The agreement comes at a crucial time for the agricultural sector, which is seeing increasing public support with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) of the European Commission and a growing interest in precision agriculture solutions designed to increase productivity and reduce costs.
