This was stated by Christine Lagarde, current director general of the IMF, denying the rumors circulated in recent days about her candidacy put forward by the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, to overcome the stalemate caused by Great Britain's position.
In fact, the British and conservative premier David Cameron has threatened to bring forward the referendum for his country's exit from the EU in the event that the leadership of the Commission is entrusted to Jean Claude Juncker, in theory the most qualified to hold the post, having been explicitly nominated by the European People's Party, which - despite having lost millions of votes - confirmed itself as the first force in the Parliament of Brussels and Strasbourg.
"I already have a very important job - commented Lagarde -, for which Great Britain backed me at the time and which I intend to complete".
