According to CEO Sergio Marchionnemoreover, “today's event marks an important step for the expansion strategy of the Jeep brand on a global level and, equally important, represents a further strengthening of the collaboration with the GAC group”.
The Gac FCA plant in Guangzhou, built jointly by the two companies and organized according to the principles of the World Class Manufacturing system, is located in the Panyu district in Guangzhou, within the automotive manufacturing hub of the Gac Group, and has an overall production capacity equal to 160 vehicles a year.
A different strategy is to Prysmian– an Italian group active in the sector of cable systems for energy and telecommunications – which sold 67% stake in Prysmian Baosheng Cable Co to the joint venture partner, Baosheng Group, for approx 42 million euro. With this agreement, Prysmian redefines its presence in China with the intention of autonomously developing business in the utilities and high voltage systems sector, leveraging greater operational flexibility, efficiency and technological development.
