The good performance of Eni, with an increase of more than 1,5%, it was not sufficient to protect Piazza Affari from the downward winds triggered by the expectation of tightening on the money market and by the new drop in crude oil. The Ftse Mib index closes in Milan at just under 22 thousand points (-0,24%): the fall in August is around 7%. Since the beginning of the year, there is still a 15% increase.

Similar variations in the others European stock exchanges: Frankfurt leaves half a percentage point on the ground, Paris -0,6, Madrid does worse -about -1%. The London Stock Exchange is closed. Both Frankfurt and Paris archive the worst month in the last four years.
Global equity funds saw outflows of $29,5 billion last week.

After last week's violent recoveries, the crude oil prices are falling again: Brent is traded at 48,5 dollars a barrel (-2,9%), Wti at 44 dollars (-2,5%). The dollar is declining against the euro, which rose to 1,123 from 1,118 on Friday.
 
Investors are anxiously awaiting China's manufacturing PMI due to be released tomorrow, with economists on average expecting it to fall below 50, the level that serves as the dividing line between growth prospects and contractionary prospects.

Some luxury stocks are on positive ground: Yoox +0,75%, Moncler +0,5%. But the black jersey of the day belongs once again to Ferragamo -1,95%.

Exor withdraws: Equita sim has lowered the target price from 45 to 43 euros.
