CDP supports the expansion of Liu Jo

Cassa Depositi e Prestiti has granted a loan of 15 million euros to Liu Jo, an Italian clothing company founded in 1995 by brothers Marco and Vannis Marchi. The loan will be used to support the investment plan aimed at innovation and the growth in size of the Group.

Indeed, in the last 25 years, Liu Jo has come a long way to become a premium brand with a turnover of approximately 400 million euros and a staff of 800 employees. The brand is present in 48 countries and 4 continents with 510 single-brand stores and 6.200 multi-brand stores.

"Thanks to the intuition of its founder Marco Marchi - explains the note from Cdp - the Group has launched the "Eccellenze Italiane" project, which led to the end of 2019 allacquisition of the Blufin Group and its historic brands (Blumarine, Blugirl, Anna Molinari and Be Blumarine), present throughout the world in over 500 points of sale, 31 of which are boutiques and single-brand shops”.

Nuncio Tartaglia, head of the Cdp Imprese division commented: “The support for Liu Jo responds to CDP's desire to support the best Italian Mid Caps, who intend to support the quality of “Made in Italy'' in Italy and around the world. Over the years Liu Jo has been able to build an enviable competitive positioning and a well-known brand, thanks to the managerial skills of its founder Marco Marchi who has always invested in product innovation, research and development of new materials, marketing initiatives and in the correct combination economic and productive capacity. All this has allowed the Group to embark on a path of constant growth, which we are sure will continue, despite the current emergency context, also thanks to our support which sees us ever closer to businesses and the local area".

Marco Marchi, sole director of Liu Jo, declared: “The meeting with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti represents our company's desire to broaden the range of financial partners and stakeholders attentive to our growth projects and to want to be ambassadors of the “Made in Italy" in the world".

Thanks to the loan, continued the manager, "we can therefore continue with serenity in our plans for economic and dimensional growth."
