Carige, agreement reached for capital increase

The capital increase of Banca Carige has restarted: in fact, the contracts for the constitution of the underwriting syndicate which will have to take charge of any unopted recapitalization have been signed with Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and Barclays.

According to what has been learned, Carige will quickly supplement the information prospectus, already filed with Consob. The bank intends to begin the exercise period of the option rights on Wednesday 22 November and end it on Wednesday 6 December, requesting a derogation from the Stock Exchange calendar.

49,81 billion new shares will be issued, offered as an option to current shareholders, to which will be added 6 billion new shares destined 'primarily' to the holders of subordinated bonds. The subscription price will be 1 cent per share. On Thursday, after the news of the failed agreement for the consortium which would have jeopardized the capital increase of over half a billion euros, Carige shares had been suspended in Piazza Affari.
