The Tokyo Stock Exchange ended the week with a downward closing: the Nikkei 225 index in fact recorded a drop of 0,75% at the end of the session, losing 102,83 points to 13.650,11. The drop was determined by speculation on American monetary policy in a slow post-August session. The broad Topix index closed down 0,80% leaving 9,17 points at 1.142,65. Activity was weak, with 1,87 billion shares traded on the primary market.
