In the second quarter of 2014 Intesa recorded a profit of 217 million, up by 87% compared to the same period of 2013. Operating income increased by 9,4% to 4,457 billion.

Intesa Sanpaolo accelerates to Piazza Affari after the publication of the accounts at the end of June. The institute's shares, just above parity before the announcement of the results, now rise by 2,42% to 2,284 euros and mark the best performance of the Ftse Mib. 79 million pieces changed hands compared to an average of 148 million in an entire session last month.

In the second quarter of 2014 Intesa recorded a profit of 217 million, up by 87% compared to the same period of 2013. Operating income increased by 9,4% to 4,457 billion. Results decidedly higher than analysts' expectations: the consensus forecasts were for profits at 128 million (+10,3%) and for a growth in proceeds limited to 4,6% to 4,26 billion.
