Borsa, Rcs at auction after Proto's offer on the 5,1% held by Benetton

The title of Rcs is in volatility auction this morning in Piazza Affari with a theoretical increase of over 14 points. Before the suspension, in just half an hour of trading, about a thousand coins had changed hands, against a daily average of 2.600 for the last month. On the other hand, RCS has an extremely small free float (we are talking about 5% actually on the market) and the shares are therefore particularly exposed to violent movements.

The wave of purchases came after yesterday the Proto Organization has proposed to the Benetton family to buy the 5,1% stake held by Edizione in the publishing group at 3 euros per share (more than double the current market value). No comments from the Benettons, except for the confirmation that Proto's proposal arrived by mail to Edizione. The company led by Alessandro Proto has recently notified Consob of a syndicate agreement between four foreign investors on 2,77% of RCS.

On the other hand, the statements by do not seem to influence the markets John Bazoli – member of the syndicate pact of the publishing group through the Brescia-based financial company Mittel – on the possibility of a recapitalization for RCS, which many now take for granted.

“I believe that the capital increase will be one of the corollaries of the adoption of the industrial plan – said Bazoli -. It seems to me that the orientation was expressed in the last RCS meeting, convened after the devaluations recorded, and that it was decided to wait for the business plan”.
