October was a bubbly month for Piazza Affari. Undisputed queen of the last period is without a doubt Monte dei Paschi of Siena which, thanks to the rumors and the subsequent approval of the Business Plan, put in place the best performance of the Ftse Mib.
Despite the declines in the last few sessions (Mps stock closed yesterday with a drop of 7,39%) the 31 days of October ended with a rise of 32,26%, a percentage which allowed the Sienese bank's shares to increase its value from 0,1838 to 0,2431 euro and recover part of the huge losses recorded during the year (-80,40%).
But the gallop of the Tuscan institute was overtaken by the superstar performance of Intermobiliare Bank, pink jersey of the sector with an increase of 45,19%, and Bper (+33,96%). The change in top management (with the arrival of Giorgio Girelli as Chief Executive Officer) which took place after the dismissal of the directors in office following the acquisition of the majority of Veneto Banca by the fund drove the monthly purchases on Bim Atlas. However, the absolute best stock of Piazza Affari is Tas, which rose by 31% in 50,91 days.
The Popolari are also sparkling in the wake of the transformation into a joint-stock company and the merger plans: in addition to Bper, Banco Popolare gained 30,22%, Bpm recorded a rise of 22,39%
