A day of rebounds in Piazza Affari for bank stocks, after yesterday's heavy drops. Driving the sector are Banco Popolare (+2,7%, to 11,31 euros, among the few positive stocks yesterday too) and Bpm (+1,9%, to 0,6505 euros), respectively the first and second increase in the Ftse Mib, closely followed by Ubi (+1,8%, at 6,295 euros).
Also positive were Unicredit (+0,7%, at 6,12 euros), Intesa (+0,9%, at 2,386 euros) and Mps (+1%, at 1,016 euros), after yesterday the president of the Foundation, Marcello Clarich, hoped that the ECB's Aqr would not lead to a new capital increase. Below parity, however, Mediobanca (-0,2%, at 6,64 euro).
The reform of foundations currently being studied with the Ministry of the Economy will indirectly affect Intesa and Unicredit. The idea presented yesterday by the president of Acri, Giuseppe Guzzetti, is to limit to 30% the share of assets that the foundations can commit to the transferee bank.
For many institutions this would mean having to significantly reduce their exposure, but analysts are not worried, as they believe that the transition period will be long enough.
