Borsa, Enel increasingly leader: worth more than 50 billion

The electricity group consolidates its recent leadership in the capitalization ranking of Piazza Affari and crosses the psychological threshold of 50 billion – In second place Eni, in third place Intesa.

Enel in the running at Piazza Affari. After taking the lead in the ranking of the companies with the highest capitalization on the Milanese list, stealing the first step of the podium from Eni, the electricity group led by Francesco Starace consolidates its leadership, overcoming the psychological threshold of 50 billion. Thanks to the current gains of the stock, which at 15 pm is up 0,9%, Enel reaches a capitalization of 50,2 billion euros.

A surprising result, but still far from the historical highs of 1999, when the Roman giant reached 58,45 billion.

The overtaking of Eni arrived during the session of Tuesday 20 June, at the end of which Enel's market value reached 49 billion and 735 million, compared to 49 billion and 553 million for Eni.

The group led by Claudio Descalzi therefore loses a historic record. With the exception of a few months of 2015, the energy company has always been the largest listed company on the Stock Exchange.

Intesa Sanpaolo completes the podium, with a market capitalization currently equal to 42 billion and 408 million. In fourth place we find Unicredit, with a market value of 32,25 billion.
