Good news for those who are thinking of renovating their home: the mobile bonuses will also be available in 2025, allowing deduct 50% with expense for the purchase of furniture and large household appliances, up to a maximum of 5.000 euros. Instead, the restructuring bonus, the deduction remains at 50% for the first home, while for second homes it will drop to 36%, with a progressive reduction expected in the coming years. These new measures were announced by the Minister of Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, during the press conference which followed the approval of the Budget.
Furniture Bonus: What Changes in 2025?
The structure of the mobile bonuses will remain unchanged and will continue to be applicable to purchases for properties undergoing renovation. This is an opportunity for those who are undertaking renovation work, even though the spending limit has been significantly reduced in recent years (it was 10 euros in 2022 and 8.000 euros in 2023). The Deputy Minister of Economy, Maurizio Leo, confirmed that the discount will remain at 50% for next year as well.
For benefit of the deduction, the furniture and appliances must be intended for properties undergoing renovation and will also include appliances with a high energy class. The deduction is also valid for interventions on garages or carports, as well as for the reconstruction or restoration of properties damaged by calamitous events, provided that a state of emergency has been declared.
How to get it?
To benefit from the furniture bonus, it is essential that the payments are carried out through methods traceable, such as bank transfer or credit card. Cash or check payments are not accepted. The amount deducted will be split over 10 years, and the expenses can be used in the tax return for purchases made until December 31, 2025. It is important to note that this bonus requires annual renewal, unlike the renovation bonus, which does not require renewal.
Renovation bonus for first and second homes: here's what's new
Alongside the furniture bonus, there are important updates for the restructuring bonus starting from 2025. The new legislation provides for the extension of the bonus with a rate of 50% for interventions on the before property, maintaining the maximum spending limit at 96 thousand euros. For the second homesinstead, therate it will come reduced al 36 %, with a maximum spending limit of 48 thousand euros, following a progressive reduction provided for by law 23 May 2024, n. 67: from 2028, the rate for second homes will further drop to 30%.

Furthermore, it is also applicable to ordinary maintenance works relating to the common parts of residential buildings, such as condominiums.
Among interventions included the bonus includes:
- Installation of elevators and safety stairs
- Construction and improvement of sanitary facilities
- Replacement of external frames, windows or shutters with roller shutters
- Refurbishment or construction of stairs and ramps
- Interventions aimed at energy saving

- Works to prevent domestic accidents and to eliminate architectural barriers
- Interventions for the wiring of buildings and the installation of gas detection devices
Renovation bonus: here's how to request it
With the elimination of the credit transfer and the invoice discount, the only way to benefit from the renovation bonus will be through the Irpef deduction. This will be it divided into 10 annual installments of the same amount and can be requested by completing the tax return (pre-filled 730 form or Personal Income Tax form).
To obtain these deductions, the cash principle requires that payments be made by the end of the year, regardless of the date of execution of the works.
Home Bonus: New rules for deductions from 2025
