Biden presented the news in a six-point TV speech. An important choice, which however risks becoming unpopular especially in the southern states, the most reluctant to receive the vaccine, where, moreover, the infections have soared.

Even surpassing the numbers of a year ago, when there were still no serums available: +300%, as many as 1,14 million new patients compared to 287,235 in 2020. Employment is also affected, increased in August by only 235 units instead of the 720 expected: with a consequent drop in consumption. In the southern states, only 53,3% are fully vaccinated, 62,7% have received a dose. After the Afghan defeat, Biden's liking is therefore also affected by the resurgence of the virus. Effectively forcing him to take new, more courageous measures, which the tenant of the White House was quick to take. Also launching an appeal to private individuals to encourage or force employees to immunize themselves: “The private sector has a role in this battle. Together with the school”.
