This is how the president of Telecom Italia Franco Bernabè responds, with a metaphor that unites the largest national telephone group to the fate of the country, in a long interview with La Stampa immediately after the approval of the group's quarterly report.
After explaining that, within three years, Telecom will invest 9 billion, but debt reduction remains the group's priority, Bernabè argued that by now all the conditions are in place (transparency and defense of the constituent values) to put TV on the market, however leaving all the doors open on the modalities: TV and infrastructure can thus be sold together or separately.
Bernabè then intervened on the Luciani case, quickly relieved of his Brazilian duties due to the legal proceedings concerning his past with the previous Ruggiero management: "We have taken note of the conclusions of the investigations and we have decided that Luciani was no longer compatible with us because a large company must be like the wife of Caesar: it must not only be virtuous but also appear as virtuous”.
The president of Telecom also said he was confident about the group's activities in Argentina despite the recent nationalization of Ypf-Repsol decided by Kirchner: "We have come out of a period of extreme difficulty and tension in a very positive way from all points of view and I don't think that what happened for Ypf-Repsol can also happen in our case" .
