Berlusconi, still a puzzle in the Giunta

After yesterday's stalemate, the Giunta for the regulation of Palazzo Madama met again this morning, which will have to decide whether the Senate Hall will vote the dismissal of Silvio Berlusconi by open or secret ballot. The majority of senators seem to favor open voting.

Yesterday the work was slowed down by the Pdl, which asked the Council to suspend the examination, after the Milan Court of Appeal published the reasons for the sentence with which it lowered the interdiction from public offices to two years from five Berlusconi, definitively convicted of tax fraud.

According to the Cavaliere party, the Milanese judges would have supported the thesis of the irretroactivity of the Severino law by defining the inadmissibility as an administrative sanction.

Today, once the reports are concluded, the debate will proceed and the vote will follow, which however could be postponed until tomorrow. The junta can also choose not to express itself, leaving the final decision on voting methods in the classroom. According to some rumors, Berlusconi himself could ask for an open vote to avoid ambushes by the government wing of his party.
