Beerbone: the silicon superbeer that cures bones (with certificate) and comes from the Val d'Orcia

An old saying born around the 20s goes: “whoever drinks beer lives for a hundred years” said then later taken up by advertising campaigns in the 50s to relaunch the beer market which was recovering in Italy after the exploits of the beginning of the century with the various Dreher, Wührer, Paskowski, Metzger, Caratch, Von Wünster, above all with the affirmation of two Italian companies, the “Fabbrica di Birra e Ghiaccio Moretti” of Udine (1859), and the Peroni, founded in Vigevano in 1845 by Francesco Peroni, but transplanted, three decades after the capture of Porta Pia, in the most dynamic market of Rome, where within a few years the brewery first concluded a partnership agreement with the Roman Society for the Manufacture of ice and artificial snow, then a real fusion that gives life, in 1905, to the "Peroni Ice and Beer Company".

The saying, in truth, was not entirely unfounded because in reality the beer could boast healthy features although certainly the 100 years boasted were only an effective merchandising gimmick. The fact is that among the basic ingredients of beer, in addition to malt and yeast, there is hops rich in a very important flavonoid, xanthumol, a substance which, according to what was published in a 2008 research in Food and Chemical Toxology, appears to be able to make the blood less thick by counteracting the abnormal development of blood vessels. Furthermore, the presence of hops in its composition would help reduce the risk of the formation of kidney stones and further reduce the risk of diabetes, ultimately also having positive effects on brain health. And we can close with the beliefs that have spread its use considering that beer is also nutritious. The monks had already discovered that in 1500 they used to replace the meal with a mug of beer.
