The Bank of Italy communicated that in July the growth rate of bank non-performing loans slowed down compared to June. The figure, without correction for securitizations but taking into account statistical discontinuities, is equal to 20,5%, down by 0,3 percentage points compared to the result of the previous month, when non-performing loans reached 20,8%.
As for business loans, they fell on an annual basis by 3,9%, while on a monthly scale there was a decrease of 33,1% compared to June. Loans to households also fell by 0,8%, both on an annual and monthly basis.
Finally, loans to the private sector, corrected taking into account securitizations and other credits sold and canceled from bank balance sheets, recorded a contraction of 2,6% on an annual basis, while the result compared to June dropped by 2,3% .
