Broadband, Telecom-Unioncamere agreement

New impetus to diffusion among companies of the broadband and ultra-broadband network. It is the objective of the agreement between Chambers of Commerce and Telecom Italia reached today in Turin by presidents of Unioncamere, Ferruccio Dardanello, and of Telecom Italia,
Franco Bernabè, who will give life to a memorandum of understanding between the two organisms.

During the meeting of the Infrastructure Commission of Unioncamere, which was held at the TILab headquarters of Telecom Italia a Turin, Bernabè and Dardanello agreed on the need for one joint action. The leaders of Unioncamere, therefore, have made the commitment to consider broadband and ultra-broadband as an infrastructure essential strategy for the competitiveness of businesses and systems territorial economies, committing the entire chamber system to ad assuming a role as institutions of reference for businesses active in contributing, with analyses, proposals, projects and funding, to the maximum diffusion of the infrastructure and its effectiveness use by businesses.

In this regard Paolo Odone, president of the Commission infrastructure, recalled that the Chambers of commerce they are already engaged on this front. There are, in fact, 18 chamber structures that are carrying out projects dedicated to raising awareness in the local businesses on the opportunities and use of ICT services advanced offered by broadband and ultra-broadband.

The Unioncamere-Telecom Italia memorandum of understanding will allow implement a national knowledge programme and awareness of businesses, especially small and very small ones, the efficient use of ICT services made available by the bandwidth wide and ultra wide. Through the signed protocol, it will be possible to identify the most appropriate ways to support ed implement, wherever favorable conditions are found, projects of development and dissemination of broadband and ultra-broadband infrastructure al service of enterprises, also through the forms of partnership public-private, involving available local public institutions and companies in the definition of the intervention.
