The board of directors of Banco di Napoli, which met today under the chairmanship of Maurizio Barracco, has appointed Franco Gallia as new general manager. Gallia's entry into the helm of Banco di Napoli is accompanied by his appointment as regional director of Intesa Sanpaolo for Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia and Sicily.

Franco Gallia as General Manager of Banco di Napoli will lead a network of over 700 branches in the regions of peninsular Italy serving over two million customers. Added to these are the 160 branches and over 490.000 customers of the Intesa Sanpaolo network in the Sicily area which fall under the regional management entrusted to Gallia himself.

Franco Gallia, 57 years old from Piedmont from Alessandria, with a career entirely within the Group, comes from Cassa di Risparmio di Venezia (Carive of the Intesa Sanpaolo group) of which he has been general manager since November 2009; previously he was regional director of Lazio, Sardinia and Sicily of the Banca dei Territori Division (January-November 2009) and head of the Lazio Area of ​​Intesa Sanpaolo (January 2007-January 2009).

The Board of Directors of Banco di Napoli, in welcoming the arrival of the new general manager, wished to thank the outgoing general manager, Giuseppe Castagna, for the work done and the results achieved in recent years at the helm of the Banco.
