A pool of banks runs to the rescue of Made in Italy products in the agri-food sector. With a loan of 27,5 million euros to Ambrosi Spa – excellence in the Italian dairy sector – to support the activity of maturing the wheels of Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, through an inventory loan line.

The loan, with a duration of 5 years, was granted by Banco BMP, as arranger, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Mediocredito Centrale and Deutsche Bank. The company also made use of the consultancy of Deloitte and, lastly, of the help of Studio Gattai Minoli Agostinelli of Milan for the legal aspects of the operation.

The leading Italian dairy company – founded in 1942 by Ottorino Ambrosi – has managed over time to combine production quality and tradition, while also developing its business on international markets. So much so that the products are currently marketed in about 60 countries around the world, also thanks to the branches in the USA, France and the United Kingdom.

The transaction - reads a note - concerns a company of excellence in the Italian dairy sector, which operates in the premium segment of the traditional cheese market: with over 400 million euros in turnover consolidated in 2019.

"The loan transaction, signed in this delicate period characterized by the Covid emergency and finalized thanks to the contribution of the lending banks of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and Banco BPM, is a tangible expression of a precise strategy of the Ambrosi Group - commented the Cav. Joseph Ambrosi, President of the company – aimed at further increasing the seasoning activity in support of the continuous growth of the Group, in a sector characterized by long maturation times for products in its own seasoning warehouses and by the presence of a clientele that is increasingly attentive to quality of the product".
