Banks recovering, the Stock Exchange rises

In Milan at the end of the morning, the FtseMib index gained 1,1%, again exceeding the threshold of 21 thousand points, albeit slightly – European inflation, according to Eurostat surveys, recorded +0,4 in August % – Mediobanca returns to profit: fixed at 10,15 euro per share – Weak luxury.

BANKS IN RECOVERY, THE COUPON RETURNS TO MEDIOBANCA. CHINA WEIGHTS ON THE LUXURY BIG. CHARGED FOR TELECOM

The charge arriving from Wall Street and China has been transmitted to European lists. In Milan, the FtseMib index gains 1,1%, again exceeding the threshold of 21 points (21.008), albeit slightly. Frankfurt +0,49%, Paris +0,7% and London +0,19% also advanced. Madrid advances by 0,91%. 

Meanwhile, a new signal of strength is coming from the German government bond market. The Berlin government placed 3,3 billion two-year Schatz this morning with a negative yield (-0,07%). European inflation, according to Eurostat surveys, recorded +0,4% in August, the same rate as the previous month, and slightly higher than the flash estimate, indicated at 0,3%. 

Second day of oil recovery: after +2,4% yesterday, today Brent gains 0,3% to 98,39 dollars a barrel. Stable, pending tonight's response from the Fed, the euro against the dollar at 1,296 euros. To support the recovery of the Italian list there are usually the banks. Unicredit earns 1,6%, Intesa +1%, Monte Paschi also holds +0,2%. Ubi Banca scores +3%, Popolare di Milano 1,9%.

Mediobanca is up 0,6%. Piazzetta Cuccia today unveiled the financial statements closed on 30 June 2014: net profit of 465 million (against 176 of losses) thanks also to the sale of shareholdings for 843,2 million offset by the increase in loan adjustments to 736 million. The dividend has been set at 10,15 euros per share. 

FinecoBank rises by 1,6%. Equita has started hedging the multi-channel bank controlled by Unicredit with a Buy recommendation and a target price of 5 euros. Fiat falls by 0,1%: registrations in Europe fell by 2,7% in August. In great evidence Telecom Italia +2%, in net recovery after yesterday's slide.

Enel advances by 1%. Positive Eni +1,2%. World Duty Free shines: the Benetton company that manages commercial spaces in airports jumps by 6,2% after the announcement of the resignation of the managing director Josè Maria Palencia Saucedo. Lastly, a negative session for luxury goods in the wake of Richemont, the world's leading company in the sale of luxury jewelery and watches, which sold 3% to Zurich, after announcing this morning that in the April-August period revenues in the Asia-Pacific area (40% of sales) closed with a change of zero, against the +5% expected by analysts. In Paris LVMH loses 0,4% in Paris and Prada is down for the third time in a row in Hong Kong. All the luxury blue chips are weak: Salvatore Ferragamo (37% of revenues in Asia) loses 1,1%, Moncler -0,5%, Tod's -0,8%.
