Self-certification: here is the new form for phase 2

The Ministry of the Interior has made available the new self-certification model which implements the easing of the restrictions in force since 4 May

Self-certification: here is the new form for phase 2

The new self-certification form to be used in Phase 2 is online. Compared to the old version, there are not many differences, so much so that the Ministry of the Interior has specified that citizens will be able to continue using the old version by crossing out the items that are no longer current.

La new version of the self-certification, published on the Viminale website, incorporates the easing of restrictions that began today, May 4, the date that officially kicked off phase 2 of the management of the coronavirus emergency.

Let's recap the new rules. Citizens can make moves, avoiding gatherings and using masks in public places, for four reasons:

  • work (in this case, self-certification is not strictly necessary, you can also use a work card or a company letter certifying the need to move);
  • health (those who go to a medical examination, in the event of a check-up must exhibit or fill in the self-certification),
  • reasons of necessity;
  • visit to relatives (it is necessary to indicate the degree of kinship of the person you are going to visit, but not his identity).

The new self-certification form also provides travel between different regions (you must declare that you are aware of any limitations imposed by the presidents of the Region), which - we remind you - until May 17 can only be carried out to return to your Region of residence, domicile or home for reasons of work, need or health.

If for any reason you are unable to download and print the new form, you can use the old one as mentioned. In any case, the self-certification can be completed at the time of the check carried out by the police who will provide the document to the citizen.

On 3 May, the Government and the Viminale respectively published the faqs and the circular containing clarifications on travel, joint walks, reopenings and new rules, trying to dissolve all the doubts still present on Phase 2 after the approval of the decree of 26 April.
