The Italian car market is racing again. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Transport, registrations in our country in March were 226.163, 18,16% more than in the same month in 2016. The final balance for the first quarter of the year was also positive, closing with 582.465 with a growth of 11,93%.

Meanwhile FCA continues to record better results than the market: in March it sold 68.154 cars in Italy, 21,32% more than in the same month in 2016. The share rose from 29,35% to 30,14%.

In the first three months of the year, group registrations were 172.148, 13,9% more than in the same period of 2016 and the share rose from 29,05 to 29,59%.

Among the brands, in March Alfa Romeo marks a leap of 46,07%; Jeep (+26,3%), Fiat (+19,84%) and Lancia (+16,45%) also performed well. The market share of 30,14% that FCA recorded on the Italian car market in March is the highest share since January 2013.

There are seven models of the group in the top ten best-selling cars. With over 8.300 registrations, the Tipo is the second best-selling car overall, behind the Panda, and first in the C segment.

The other models that place in the top ten are Ypsilon (third overall and first in segment B), 500 (fourth overall), 500X and 500L, both first in their segments, and Punto. Giulia's strong growth continues, while Stelvio is entering his category as a protagonist.
