The American giant AT&T is preparing to separate the Media activities from the Tlcs. This was stated by the Wall Street Journal which links the corporate reorganization to the acquisition of Time Warner. When AT&T completes the acquisition of Time Warner - by the end of 2017, writes the US newspaper quoting sources close to the company - it will divide its corporate structure into two segments: Media on one side, Telecommunications on the other.
At the head of the Time Warner division will sit a veteran of AT&T management: John Stankey. The company's telecommunications division will include telephony and Internet, and AT&T's satellite channel, DirectTV. On the other hand there will be Time Warner with its channels (including Hbo and Cnn, and Warner Bros). At the head of the structure will go the current president and chief executive officer of AT&T, Randall Stephenson. In early Friday afternoon on Wall Street, AT&T shares were up 0,39% to $36,35 a share.
