In times of coronavirus there is also some good news. One of these is that TUA Assicurazioni, the Cattolica group company, is officially Carbon Neutral. Indeed, the company has announced that it has reduced the impact of CO2 emissions to zero, as certified in recent days by Carbonsink. The path towards Carbon Neutrality was started exactly one year ago through the formalization and sharing of the TUA Green project. An initiative with a dual objective: to make the entire company aware of eco-sustainability issues and to eliminate the impact of the company's work activities on CO2 emissions.
Mission accomplished: the second objective, objectively the most important, has been achieved in recent days, after a journey undertaken together with the partner Carbonsink. Through the typical phases of observation, measurement, mitigation and compensation, the certification of the cancellation of carbon credits of the REDD+ type (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) was achieved. A result that will enable the conservation of forests in the Amazon in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions resulting from deforestation and forest degradation.
Furthermore, during 2020 it will find its maximum diffusion awareness raising work in the company, through events and experiences aimed at increasing the environmental sensitivity of employees and collaborators with the aim of influencing everyone's daily behavior, both working and not, in order to reduce their environmental impact. The activity also envisages the involvement of the agency networks, in order to broaden the effects on the territory thanks to Agents attentive to the issue of eco-sustainability.
