Double investigation against Whatsapp. The two proceedings are initiated by the Competition and Market Guarantor Authority, which wants to investigate the company Whatsapp Inc. for alleged violations of the Consumer Code. This can be read in a note from the Antitrust, which explains that an initial proceeding aims to ascertain whether the American company has forced users to fully accept the new contractual terms, in particular the sharing your personal data with Facebook; while the second proceeding is aimed at ascertaining the unfairness of some clauses.
Whatsapp, which since February 2014 has been bought by Facebook for 19 billion dollars and which this year it reached and exceeded one billion users worldwide, had already been targeted by the Italian authorities a month ago, when it was the Guarantor for Privacy who launched an investigation "following the modification of the policy carried out by Whatsapp at the end of August which provides for the making available to Facebook of some information regarding the accounts of individual users, also for marketing purposes".
