Three years after its launch in Italy, Allianz Global Investors notes the excellent results achieved by Allianz Europe Equity Growth Select, European equity market high conviction fund managed by a team of extensive asset class expertise led by Thorsten Winkelmann and Matthias Born.
Based on fundamental bottom-up stock selection and benchmark agnostic, the fund presents a concentrated portfolio of around 30-45 stocks, focused on the most attractive European structural growth drivers.
Using a growth approach, Allianz Europe Equity Growth Select focuses on stocks with structurally above-average earnings and cash flow growth, whose growth potential is not fully reflected in the current course. Thanks to this stock selection activity, the fund has outperformed its benchmark since launch (+9,98% vs. +7,16%).
“While volatility remains high on international markets, our outlook on the European stock market remains positive, thanks to the ECB's expansionary monetary policy measures, low commodity prices, stable domestic demand and the support for exports deriving from the weak Euro . Allianz Europe Equity Growth Select, in this market context, confirms itself as a strategic tool for the search for yield and portfolio growth”, he comments Alberto D'Avenia, Country Head Italy of Allianz Global Investors.
“Most investors don't pay adequate attention to long-term drivers which support the performance of the shares. Many investors spend time and energy analyzing macroeconomic values, such as the trend of GDP or indices relating to purchase orders, which however have a very low correlation with respect to the performance of securities. What matters most is what lies behind the company: long-term factors related to the business model. The competitive positioning of an excellent company, which is often built over years, sometimes decades, impacts much more than any regional growth rate or currency movement in the short term”, concludes Thorsten Winkelmann, co-manager of Allianz Europe Equity Growth Select.
