Alitalia, the decisive board of directors has begun: the agreement with Etihad is not obvious

The board of directors decisive for the future of Alitalia has begun. There are four knots to solve for CEO Del Torchio and they all concern the possible agreement with the Emirates company Etihad, which continues to press the Italian carrier: first of all on the reduction of personnel (we are still talking about the 3 redundancies) renegotiation of the debt with the creditor banks (a cut of 400 million is assumed), the regulatory reorganization with the liberalization of the Linate airport (with substantial disengagement of Malpensa) and the reduction of spaces for low cost airlines, and the guarantee of current shareholders on the legal dispute.

Delicate issues to resolve but crucial to continue on the road towards an agreement with the Abu Dhabi company. In fact, last week the Arab company sent a harsh letter in which it pointed out its intention not to continue the negotiations without precise guarantees in this regard. Clear and distinct message for shareholders and for the Government. And a first point on the state of things is being made today, in the headquarters of the Fiumicino airport, where the board of directors of Alitalia is in session.
