Intesa-Confindustria agreement: 150 billion to companies

Confindustria e Intesa Sanpaolo have signed a three-year agreement to make available to Italian companies 150 billion euros to invest in “competitiveness, innovation and sustainability”. This is what we read in a note.

With the peak of the Covid-19 emergency behind us, "Intesa Sanpaolo and Confindustria are jointly proposing a strategic plan aimed at accelerating the relaunch of the real Italian economy - continues the note - putting skills and people at the centre, along the lines of National Recovery and Resilience Plan”.

Intesa Sanpaolo specifies that it has "envisaged various tools to facilitate the transition towards ordinary credit solutions to support the liquidity of companies and to support their financial balance".

On the front of the sustainability, on the other hand, "Intesa Sanpaolo and Confindustria intend to give maximum impetus and support to the transition processes of companies towards a digitized and green economy to make them sustainable and resilient, facilitating the adoption of growth strategies based on sustainability and on the evolution towards model of the circular economy”.

In particular, Intesa Sanpaolo has activated a credit limit for the new S-Loans, a specific line of sustainable loans that complements a credit limit for investments in the Circular Economy.

As for the strengthening of the financial and patrimonial structure, “it is essential to identify new tools that favor a medium-long term perspective – continues the note – able to contribute to the progressive reconstruction of cash flows and to promote capitalization and the strengthening of the company's financial structure. An objective that the new agreement aims to achieve by promoting the dissemination of a corporate culture that is more attentive to the diversification of financial sources and the correct balance between debt and risk capital, through the enhancement of public coverage".

In the context of enhancement of the role of the supply chains, the agreement continues the collaboration already started with Confindustria also with the specific protocol within the 'Sviluppo Filiere' program of Intesa Sanpaolo, which will be extended to new production sectors to increase employment and investments.

Finally, “Intesa Sanpaolo and Confindustria undertake to adopt and promote actions in support of employment, training and business continuity, in particular the management of the generational transition, encouraging female entrepreneurship and smart working ", concludes the note.
