Two twin truffles weighing 905 grams, dug in the shadow of the tower of Santo Stefano Roero, have been awarded to a Hong Kong entrepreneur at the World Auction of the White Truffle of Alba®, organized by the Enoteca Regionale Piemontese Cavour, now in its 25th edition. for the sum of 140.000 euros, a figure second only to the record-breaking truffle of 2022, sold at auction for 184.000 euros. The auction also saw the sale of tthree specimens of Alba White Truffle weighing 201, 235 and 505 grams, which went to an entrepreneur from Cherasco and one from Varese, while the third will fly to China, purchased by chef Zhou Ziling, owner of the Michelin-starred Silver Pot in Chengdu, among other restaurants.
In total, the collection this year has reached the remarkable figure of 395.500 euros destined for solidarity projects in Italy and around the world.
The event, held with the support of the Piedmont Region, ENIT – Italian National Tourism Agency, the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board, the Alba International White Truffle Fair, the National Truffle Study Center and the Order of the Knights of the Truffle and Wines of Alba, attracted the interest of numerous philanthropists connected from Hong Kong, Singapore, Vienna, Frankfurt and, for the first time, Bangkok. This year, the collection reached the remarkable figure of 395.500 euros, destined for solidarity projects in Italy and around the world. Another related location, the metropolis of Seoul, reached as part of an event for the promotion of Piedmont in support of the candidacy of Italian Cuisine to become UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, organized by the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, Enit and ICE.
A Barolo en primeur sold in Hong Kong for 40.000 euros

Hong Kong will donate the funds to the Mother's Choice Institute (dedicated to helping children in need), Singapore to the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), the only community veterinary clinic in Singapore, Vienna to Acker Österreich (a charity active in improving the understanding and appreciation of natural food, sustainability and agriculture) and Frankfurt to the Youth Cup for youth Paralympic sports. In Bangkok, the proceeds from the Auction will finally go to the Border Patrol Police School Foundation, under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
