From the idea to the script, up to the chance to see your short film made. Isybank, Intesa Sanpaolo's digital bank, opens the doors of cinema to aspiring filmmakers up to age 35. with a competition that combines training and professional opportunities. to supervise artistically the paths will be Paolo Sorrentino e Silvio Soldini, involved in the project promoted by the Intesa Sanpaolo digital bank together with OffiCine-IED, with the collaboration of Mastercard.
Applications open until October 15th, with two categories in competition.
Presented at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, the “Film Contest for New Authors" is aimed at young emerging Italian screenwriters and authors. Applications can be sent until October 15, 2026 through the Isybank website, submitting a project for one of the two sections available, feature film or short film.
The proposals will be evaluated by a jury composed of Carolina Crescentini, Matteo Oscar Giuggioli, Edoardo Leo, Doriana Leondeff, Bruno Oliviero, and Silvio Soldini. The finalists will be announced on November 30, during an event at the Intesa Sanpaolo Tower in Turin as part of the 44th Turin Film Festival. The winners will be announced in December.
From the labs to production, the journey with Sorrentino and Soldini
The transition from selection to project work will take place January 2027, when the selected authors will begin the advanced training workshops led by director Bruno Oliviero. For feature films, artistic supervision will be entrusted to Oscar-winning director Paolo Sorrentino. The aim is to develop a professional script to submit to production houses, offering participants an opportunity to get closer to the film industry.
The section dedicated to short films will instead follow a path under the artistic supervision of Silvio Soldini. In this case, the work will include writing the screenplay and will lead to the production of the short by OffiCine-IED.
Support for young people and funding for audiovisual
The competition is part of Isybank's strategy to support younger generations in their education and entry into the workforce. Since 2009 Intesa Sanpaolo has provided approximately 4 billion euros to audiovisual companies, contributing to the creation of over 750 works including Italian and international films and television series. In addition to these, there are 214 productions including commercials, factual programs and television formats, for a total indicated by the group of 964 audiovisual contents.
