Intesa Sanpaolo first bank in Europe and in Italy second in the world among 100 most sustainable societies to the world for Corporate Knights, a leading company in the media sector and in research on the sustainable economy. Every year, during the World Economic Forum in Davos, it presents the results of an analysis that evaluates and compares over 6.700 large global companies listed on the stock exchange.

The ranking considers companies with a turnover of at least one billion dollars, evaluated on 25 performance indicators, including aspects such as environmental sustainability, attention to human resources, gender equality, revenues from products, services and ESG investments. Only companies that consider sustainable solutions as a fundamental part of their commercial offering and that dedicate significant investments to reduce carbon emissions are included. The 100 companies identified make up the Corporate Knights Global 100 Index.

The banking institution led by Carlo Messina, underlines a note, confirms its position among the most active groups in the world for sustainable development, a result that reflects the commitment of the Group strengthened within the framework of the 2022-2025 Business Plan. 

At the end of 2023, Intesa Sanpaolo's commitment to sustainability led to the reconfirmation - unique among Italian banks - in Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (World and Europe).
