Company Description

Banca Mediolanum SpA is a direct bank that offers banking, investment, insurance and credit services. She is the parent company of the Mediolanum Banking Group which is present in Italy, Spain, Germany, Ireland and Luxembourg. It is a multi-channel bank that operates through a commercial network made up of around 4.126 financial advisors. It has 2.321 employees and approximately 1.303.759 customers.

Its headquarters are in Milan.

Banca Mediolanum was founded by Ennio Doris in 1997. Doris served as president of the bank Until 21 September 2021, dies the November 24 of the same year.

The current president is John Pirovano while the CEO is Massimo Antonio Dorisson of Ennius.

The bank's business focuses on two main activities: life insurance and pension fund management and financial services.

In 2019, assets under management and administration amounted to 78.102 million euros with a consolidated net profit of 570,7 million euros.

Le Mediolanum Group origins date back to 1982 when it was founded Programma Italia SpA in partnership with the Fininvest Group. Programma Italia was the first national network to offer global consultancy in the savings and pension sector. In 1991 the Italia Investimenti Program was born, securities firm. In 1995 following a reorganization was born Mediolanum SpA., holding company for all activities.

On 13 June 1996 Mediolanum SpA entered the Milan Stock Exchange. The operation was a great success.

In 1997 Programma Italia Investimenti Sim PA becomes Banca Mediolanum, one of the most innovative Italian telematic banks. It is established abroad Mediolanum International Funds based in Dublin, a management company offering advanced funds.

In 1998 Mediolanum SpA enters the MIB 30, the index of the 30 most important companies of the Milan Stock Exchange.

In 1999 Mediolanum acquired 2% of Mediobanca. Established with Mediobanca Esperia Bank, a joint venture offering private banking services.

In 2000 Banca Mediolanum went digital. It becomes the first online bank, offering its customers trading services as well as the operation of technological channels and consultancy.
Enter the Spanish market with the acquisition of Fibanc Banking Group.

Between 2001 and 2002 it expands abroad. Acquires Gamax Holding AG e Bankhaus August Lenz & Co AG in Germany.

In 2002, the Mediolanum Foundation, with the aim of promoting and developing projects to help the weakest, starting with children, in the field of assistance, education and health.

Since 2003 it becomes sponsor of the Giro d'Italia.
