Orange zone from January 10 for 5 Regions

from Monday 11 January 5 regions will remain in the orange zone, while the others will return to yellow - Here's what they are, why, and what will be allowed to do

Orange zone from January 10 for 5 Regions

From Sunday 10 January (from Monday actually, because Sunday is "orange for everyone") 5 regions will pass into the orange zone. They are Calabria, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Sicily and Veneto. This was established by the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, on the basis of the data and indications of the Control Room.

Speranza has signed a new ordinance which will enter into force on January 10 and will be valid until Friday January 15, the date on which the last Dpcm will expire and a new one will arrive containing possible extensions.

ISS MONITORING

From 15 to 28 December, the average Rt transmissibility index calculated on symptomatic cases was 1,03 (range 0,98 - 1,13), up from four weeks and for the first time, after six weeks, above one.

The epidemic, the experts comment, is “in a delicate phase which seems to herald a new rapid increase in the number of cases in the coming weeks, if they are not rigorously defined and implemented more stringent mitigation measuresi ".

THE REGIONS IN THE ORANGE ZONE

Three Regions (Calabria, Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy) have an Rt greater than 1 and for this reason they have been placed directly in the orange zone, while Sicily has an Rt of 0,99 but has requested that it be considered as 1 and, for this reason reason, was included in the same category. The same request was presented by Veneto, which sent a letter to the control room in which it highlighted various problems, first of all the high circulation of the virus.
