When a zipper opens it goes ZIP! Like this book.
Clothes can be colored like a parrot's feathers or stiff like armor. Sometimes we wear them by picking them up at random in the closet, sometimes we spend time trying them on in front of the mirror. When a dress fits us well we say that
fits like a brush, as if they had painted it on us. Here the story of jackets, skirts, trousers, coats, shirts, hats, shoes, bags, zippers is told…
Dress for the whole year, for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, without forgetting the Out of Season with fairytale dresses…
In Zip! the authors, Giancarlo Ascari and Pia Valentinis, tackle the theme of fashion with anecdotes and curiosities that reveal the origin of the garments as we know them, showing us, with splendid illustrations, how much an era can determine fashion and vice versa.
