An arctic-continental flow invaded Italy making temperatures plummet below average, with values ​​that will even drop below zero, sometimes accompanied by robust bora, north and north winds with snow in the Apennines up to hilly altitudes. In the North-East and central regions there will be rain and showers, but of modest intensity. As the hours passed, the Maltempo it will intensify in the regions of Sardinia, Sicily and the far South. Italy will thus plunge into true winter, even if already on Sunday high pressure will quickly regain the entire country, bringing stable weather even to the far South after residual remnants of instability.

The Apennines will still see snow falling even on the hills, but from the afternoon the white lady is also expected in the South and in Sicily. Northern winds will be strong between the North and Northeast, while the seas will be very rough or rough, with possible storm surges along the exposed coasts.

After the freezing invasion scheduled for Saturday, starting from Sunday 21 the weather should stabilize, giving sunny skies over much of Italy, although the climate will remain wintry. Teeth will also be chattering in the Center with values ​​around zero in Florence, Rome and L'Aquila. In the South, maximum temperatures could persist below the seasonal average, while in the rest of the country a slight rise in maximum temperatures is expected. In the North, however, the high risk of frosts in the early hours of the morning persists.

Subsequently, an area of ​​high pressure is preparing to stabilize over Italy, offering sunny days and a climate that heralds the beginning of spring, without the threat of rain.
