Enav: revenues at 193,6 million, net loss decreasing. Record air traffic in Italy

Enav records a positive first quarter with a decreasing net loss, growing Ebitda and total consolidated revenues increasing by 9,5%. Air traffic in Italy reaches record levels with an increase of 8,7% on route and 10,5% in terminals. The 2024 outlook confirmed

In the first quarter of 2024, Enav reported a net loss of 13,8 million euros, improving to 21,8 million in the same period of 2023. This result is in line with previous quarters, which are influenced by the seasonality of the industry, with lower revenues at the beginning of the year and significant increases during the summer, while costs remain relatively constant. Instead, theEbitda at 16,5 million euros, with a margin of 8,5%, while the Ebit is negative for 10,3 million euros, +9,7 million compared to the first quarter of 2023.

I total consolidated revenues however, they rose by 9,5%, reaching 193,6 million euros, mainly driven by the increase in air traffic and related operating revenues, which rose to 187,2 million euros (+5,4%). L'net financial debt as of March 31, 2024 it stood at 300,6 million euros.

Record flights in Italy in the first quarter of 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, the Air traffic in Italy has reached record levels both on routes and in airport terminals. The tgust on course increased by 8,7%, while that in the terminals it grew by 10,5% compared to the same period in 2023.

Italy, together with Spain and France, is confirmed as one of the countries with the highest growth rate in Europe. Ecosystem's staff is international commercial traffic (flights departing or arriving in an airport on Italian territory) recorded an increase of 17,2%, while overflight traffic (flights that cross Italian airspace without stopping) showed a growth of 7%. The only decline was recorded in national traffic, down by 2,6%.

The 2024 outlook confirmed

Based on its first quarter results, the company has the outlook confirmed for 2024 announced during the presentation of the budget for 2023.

"L 'record increase in flights about Italy did not take us by surprise. We have worked to attract traffic to our airspace by making routes on national skies increasingly efficient, allowing airlines to reduce travel times and fuel. This year, in fact, thanks to the implementation of new procedures and technologies, the carriers they will save around 90 million kg of fuel with a consequent positive impact also in terms of environmental sustainability. The Group's economic and financial performances represent an excellent starting point for confirming our expectations for 2024 both on regulated activities and on the unregulated market" commented the CEO of Enav, Pasqualino Monti.
