Vodafone and Microsoft, three-year agreement for businesses

The current health emergency has made digital technologies even more essential for the sustainability of work and business models. For this reason, Vodafone Business and Microsoft Italia have signed an agreement to accelerate the digital transformation of Italian companies and public administrations: from smart working to Cloud solutions for continuous business, passing through services to support productivity.

The partnership strengthens a strategic relationship, the joint press release specifies, already consolidated in recent years, inaugurating new development prospects based on the combination of reciprocal skills. The agreement is based on a joint analysis of the needs of the Italian market, with the aim of identifying the most suitable and priority solutions for customers.

In detail, the collaboration aims to develop efficient solutions for smart working, an essential element for business continuity during the health emergency. The solutions envisage the integration of Microsoft products (Microsoft 365, Teams and Surface) with Vodafone services (from connectivity to the most innovative ones such as IoT), in a flexible as-a-service approach, oriented towards the specific needs of customers, followed at every step by digitization experts.

Equally relevant will be the joint development of an offer in the Cloud computing field, based on both the Vodafone private cloud and the Microsoft Azure public cloud. The aim is to allow companies to benefit from maximum scalability, according to a hybrid model that ensures high security performance, such as for mission-critical activities and, at the same time, flexibility and value-added services, such as data analysis and artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, it is planned to develop services to support the ddigitization of business processes, starting from the modularity of the Dynamics 365 platform which integrates business applications useful in numerous areas: from customer and resource management (CRM and ERP) to complex data analytics solutions.

The Vodafone division and the world leader in software aim to jointly create applications aimed at specific vertical sectors, exploiting Microsoft's Power Apps and the quality of Vodafone's Giga Network as additional factors to increase the productivity of companies.

“With Vodafone Business – he says Aldo Bisio, CEO of Vodafone Italy – we are alongside companies in this transformation process, thanks also to an ecosystem of national and international partnerships. The newly signed partnership - continued Bisio - consolidates the strategic relationship with Microsoft and further strengthens our ability to enable new operating models through integrated solutions, which enrich Vodafone's advanced services with Microsoft's digital platforms".

“We aim to develop joint services and reach out to the local realities in a capillary manner to respond to their needs – he declared Silvia Candiani, CEO of Microsoft Italy – The Cloud represents an extraordinary enabler and in this way we intend to bring it closer to everyone and extend its application range, whether it is smart working, data analysis or digitization of business processes".
