Vivino chooses XPO Logistics for its e-commerce expansion

XPO Logistics, world leader in logistics and supply chain, has signed a multi-year contract with Vivino, the most popular wine app in the world, which is also opening up to the eCommerce sector. This opening in the online marketing of wine, according to forecasts, will result in 500 shipments of bottles of wine every year. XPO Logistics manages the entire supply chain process from its multi-customer warehouse in Trezzo sull'Adda (near Milan), from the cellars to the consumers' tables. 

The innovative Vivino app for wine lovers has over 20 million subscribers and was initially created with the aim of offering evaluations of bottles and productions based on thousands of users' opinions through a simple click on the labels. Recently, Vivino has also wanted to expand into sales by linking wine cellars to its organization and thus offering periodic promotions to its user base. Vivino turned to XPO Logistics which, thanks to its proven experience in eCommerce, was able to offer a fluid eCommerce process and ad hoc IT systems based on the specific needs of the customer and the type of product.

To ensure fast transit and efficient management of the goods, XPO Logistics has interfaced its computer system with that of Vivino and the external courier service for the transport of goods. In this way XPO Logistics is always able to monitor the entire supply chain in real time, from the arrival of the product in the warehouse to the physical delivery to the final customer, a process which takes an average of two days. This system tracks the quantity of incoming and outgoing goods as well as all delivery details, providing visibility of all operations to Vivino. Furthermore, thanks to the use of a multi-customer warehouse, XPO Logistics is able to offer Vivino greater flexibility, in terms of structure and personnel, to adequately respond to seasonal peaks. 

In eCommerce, customer satisfaction is an absolute priority and for this reason, XPO Logistics has devised logistics solutions that aim precisely for this. The dedicated staff guarantees prompt and accurate preparation of the shipments using packaging and packaging specifically designed and tested to ensure that the bottles of wine reach the consumer in a perfect state of conservation. Furthermore, XPO Logistics has designed a customer service connected directly to the Vivino site with a dedicated and adequately trained staff to respond to any needs from end consumers.
